Riad in Marrakech
Riad Al Jana is set in the centre of Marrakech, just 1 km from the Jemaâ El Fna Square and the Koutoubia Mosque. The traditionally designed riad offers a terrace and a patio with a fountain and a plunge pool.
The air-conditioned guest rooms at Riad Al Jana feature a traditional décor and a seating area. They each include a private bathroom with a bath or a shower.
A continental breakfast can be enjoyed every morning at Riad Al Jana and local cuisine is served in the dining area. Guests are invited to relax in the Moroccan lounge or take part of a guided city visit or excursion organised by the riad.
Marrakech Menara Airport is a 20-minute drive away and an airport transfer service is available upon request. The property is 200 m from the Almoravid Koubba and 2.5 km from the Majorelle Garden.

We have just got back from a stay in Riad Al Jana and found the accommodation great value for money (approx £185 for 4 nights). They arranged airport pick up and drop off and had Mohammed meet us at the taxi drop off point. Having never visited the souks before this was super helpful as we would’ve probably got lost! All the staff were very helpful and friendly, good breakfast selection & super clean room. Also conveniently located so it was a fairly straight walk through the souks to the main square. Would recommend and it was an added bonus they helped us arrange a trip out one of the days (three valleys but would probably recommend just doing Oureka Valley and spending more time hiking to the higher waterfalls). Would give 5* but know some of the other riads offer roof terrace and although there was a nice seating area in one courtyard on the other side the pool was a little random and out of the sun.

Nice and clean riad in the center of Marrakesh Medina. Friendly front desk, speaks some english, but mostly french. Cheap price, basic breakfast. Some rooms are very small, some are pretty big. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, hairdryer on request.
The stunning rooftop view was an unexpected surprise! Our room was a little dated in terms of furniture, but the hotel was very clean, comfortable and had a unique charm. The staff couldn't have been more accomodating. As for location, it's a 10-15 minute walk to the main square and it's tucked away from the noise and much of the hustle and bustle of the medina. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again.
If you travel to Marrakech Riad Al Jana is a wonderful place to stay within the Medina. From the moment we were picked up from the airport we felt completely looked after. Everyone is so lovely and helpful. The rooms are spacious, quiet and clean with thick towels and bed linen. The bathroom was equipped with toiletries (one of the things for which Morocco is renowned) and a hair-dryer. Marrakech can be quite hot, yet the Riad is cool and comfortable. The traditional Moroccan breakfast is hearty and delicious with bread and jams, and each day different cakes or pikelets - and fantastic coffee (I love my coffee). If you stay at Riad Al Jana you MUST have dinner there (which is a 3 course affair and very well priced). We had an amazing mouth-watering beef tagine with prunes and figs - WOW!!!Riad al Jana is THE place to stay within the souk area of the Medina.

It was lovely staying here.Great location, perfect to reach the famous Medina's souksThe room was in typical maroccan style, just like the pictures, very clean! The personnel was so kind and ready to help every time we had a request.Very good breackfast....so I would say absolutely recommended!
London
I stayed here for one night and it is a beautiful place. The staff were very helpful as well. The entrance is through a bit of a dark alley, but a beautiful hotel nonetheless.Note that if you want to have dinner in the hotel you need to ask in advance in the morning (I missed dinner for this reason). There’s a nice roof terrace and several courtyards to sit in.
Toronto
Awesome Riad in a central location with access to the major attractions, such as the photography museum, Jama al fanaa, the souks, Bahia palace and various others. The staff was extremely nice. The Riad was clean and well maintained. However, the entrance was very shady with a bunch of guys standing in the alley leading to the Riad in the evenings.
I am happy to stay in this riad and come back at any time. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I did feel at home and very safe in the riad. Clining is a priority for them and, in fact, any area of the riad is brighting and clean. The location is very convenient in the centre of the mediana and 10min from the main sqare. I do advice to choose this riad.
Basel
We stayed at the Al Jana just for one night. The transfer was arranged through the hotel so a guide accompanied us directly to the hotel. The hotel is located near the vivid souk quartier and the big square djemna el fna. Shopping facilities and dinner options are all within walking distance. The room was small but well mantained and clean. The breakfast was good and the service very friendly. Definitively recommend the riad when travelling on a lighter budget and only for a couple days.

Visited Marrakesh last June. 5 days. I was a little disappointed with Marrakesh after reading many reviews I felt some what under whelmed. Our hotel was pleasant, clean and we were looked after. Breakfast was not worth the money and we chose to eat outside. As a female I felt safe walking around on my own wearing my normal clothes. I carried a shawl in the souks so I could be more modest. I felt 5 days in Marrakesh was to long. We did a 2 day desert trip after we had seen the sites in and around the new and old parts. Visit the water park the greenery and swimming pool are beautiful. I would return to Morocco to visit another part of the country, but no need to return to Marrakesh.

For the price, this Riad is very good. Yes, the Médina can be full of scammers and it is a challenge to find the Riad but that is a common experience throughout Morocco. We were given directions in advance. Bathroom was very good. Location is perfect for exploring.
Visited with a friend for a couple of nights before a trip up the Atlas Mountains. The only time I felt unsafe in Marrakech was trying to find this hostel once in the dark. Location is deep in the souk and many people will approach you and try to guide you, then charge you for the privilege (You should be careful of this wherever you are in The Médina). Room was fine, although call to prayer was so loud it sounded like it was happening inside the room. Staff are friendly.
Los Angeles
My partner and I stayed at this lovely riad 3 nights. It's located in the medina down a small alley so GPS was definitely helpful. We arrived at the riad around 9 at night after a long journey, and coming in with touts on the streets trying to steer us the wrong way. After we got in, our check-in process was not as smooth as we hoped it would be. Instead of feeling welcomed with a smile and mint tea, the staff who checked us in seemed a bit confused about our arrival and took a long time to confirm our reservation. Perhaps it was the long journey we've had, and all we wanted to do was to get to our room to use the bathroom, or perhaps it was miscommunication (we did not speak each other's languages and had to rely on a translator app), I felt a bit of annoyance with this particular staff as well as the arduous process. This check-in process felt more like standing before an airport customs officer answering questions than a welcoming B&B or hotel experience should be. Then after inspecting our passports and finally locating our reservation on the computer screen, he told us we did not fully paid for our room which we thought was already paid for, and wrote down a small amount of fee on a piece of paper (later on we realized it was a city tax imposed on all hotel guests). We were confused about the additional fee and were so tired at this point, it just seemed to us like there's one more obstacle preventing us from getting into our room, let alone any welcoming drinks. We search our wallets, at the time we did not have the cash to pay him so I asked if we could pay him later on after we get to the ATM. He finally understood what I was trying to ask and nodded and gave us our room key. In short, of all the check-in experiences we've had during our travels in Morocco, this was the only negative one. On our last day there we wanted to order a bottle of wine listed on their room menu to celebrate our last day in Morocco, so I went downstairs and asked this staff with our pre-translated request. He said it was not possible and told us we would have to take a taxi to Acima supermarket in the new part of town to find the wine. We asked him to point out Acima supermarket on the map for us. Long story short. We found Acima supermarket closed as in out of business, and it seemed to have been closed for a long while. At that point my partner and I just looked at each other, shook our collective heads and smiled. I guess we just didn't have good enough luck with this particular staff. We then took a taxi to Carrefour supermarket a bit further and finally found our celebratory wine. Now with all that said, I find Riad Al Jana's other staff very friendly, competent, and accommodating. On our last day there, we asked the manager Abdou to help us print out our RyanAir boarding pass and he did it without hesitation and with a smile. The friendly ladies prepare delicious breakfast made fresh from the kitchen daily and the housekeeping was very good. The riad itself is beautifully constructed. Our room was spaciou, nicely decorated, and quiet. The architecture details of this 16th century building is beautiful. Of all the accommodations we stayed in Morocco, this one was the nicest and the prettiest. Overall, our experience here was a positive one and I would definitely recommend this lovely oasis in the middle of the medina.
Ipswich
Like everywhere else in the medina, the riad would have been hard to find without our friendly guide, Mohamad, who carried our luggage from the taxi. Beautiful room and shower room overlooking the courtyard. Comfortable bed, lots of wardrobe space and a welcome room heater. We were here for 6 days in Jan/Feb. They were happy to make any arrangements we wanted - airport transfers, outings, early breakfast and a request for yogurt beldi was met with some of the most delicious yogurt we tasted , maps, directions - all in all a very happy stay. Thank you.

Nice little riad right in the middle of the madness of the souks. Nice people looked after us very well. special thanks to Mohamad who carried the super heavy carpets for us all the way to the taxi. very pleasent staying experience.
Thank you to you Abdul and all the staff at Riad Al Jana!! You made our stay wonderful we only wish the staff in the uk were as wonderful as yours!!Staff here are amongst the most genuine, honest and caring people you could meet - lovely. They accommodated us around our needs. The rooms are kept very clean each day-fresh clean towels and linen. The ladies work so hard and do a wonderful job :) The riad we found was well cared by the hardworking people within it.As two girl travellers we felt very safe once we were inside the riad - after a crazy time out in the souks it was a very welcome relief to return here to relaxation. The food here at the restaurant was absolutely divine, delicious and authentic. We thank you very much for giving us a taste of Moroccan food :) We only wished we could have eaten here all the time during our stay. Unfortunately we got ill due to food/drinks outside the riad. The staff looked after us very well and asked about each day as we were unable to eat anything and was bed bound for few days to recover. Abdul you was brilliant very caring and supportive throughout our stay here and even arranged transport for us back to the airport. Mohammed kindly walked us out to our taxi in the early hours of the morning to ensure we was safe.I would lastly like to mention the breakfast it was very delicious - fresh bread, pancakes every morning with a selection of jams, tea/coffee was a lovely way to start the day. The lovely ladies always greeted us with a smile every morning and was always very caring and attentive. I loved the terraced too a lovely place to chill and relax i liked the beautiful decor and marbled stoned baths. Even the plants are well cared for beautiful lime trees and hibiscus flowers. Thank you Abdul and to all you're lovely staff for making us feel very welcome :)
Bergen
Was here for a overnight at this small and charming Riad. Came late at the airport and took a taxi that let me of at djama Efna and I walked from there. It’s hard to find and not signed in a back alley I found it finally.Service is great and receptionist talked great English and rooms were nice and clean. But very loud and you can hear everything from outside and other rooms just like you were there..Breakfast was tiny but ok.Overall a ok stay
Waterlooville
my partner and I stayed here for a week in September. Initially was tricky to find even by the taxi driver as its down a little alley right in the heart of the souks. so you have to walk the last few streets. however upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely mint tea and cookies while our cases were taken to our room. The hotel is small and quite and a real rest from the hub bub outside. there are two courtyard like areas with rooms on the upper level. the rooms are lovely and the beds are very comfy. breakfast is served each morning in a communal area off the main courtyard and is usually coffee or tea with juice and bread then a variety of muffins or pancakes. sets you up for the day. I would advise anyone to take a map available at reception and you will need it! the streets are winding and dusty but its a great experience. I would also suggest if your an animal lover then purchase some small tins of fish for the many many kittens you will encounter on your travels. The pool we didnt use and this is why the hotel looses a point. its tiny and a little pointless to be fair. tucked out of the way with no access to anywhere to get a drink or relax near by . there is a roof terrace but during the day far to hot to use. we did pop up there as the temp dropped in the evening and it was lovely. i was a little concerned about not having a key to the main entrance as this is always locked. however there was always someone...eventually to let us in. The staff were super lovely and very helpful. I would highly recommend a stay here. but find a another pool to chill in. also if you buys drinks or snacks out there is no where to keep these chilled once you return to your room.
I stayed at Riad Al Jana for a week with my friends and the people at the hotel were kind and friendly. The hotel itself was very peaceful and relaxing. The ladies in the hotel did a lovely job on cleaning the room and serving breakfast. Thank you for making our experience enjoyable!

Very quiet Riad, quite different from the noise Medina. Is around 10 min walk to the main square of Medina. The staff is very welcoming and polite. Our rooms were big enough and the bathroom really nice. The breakfast is also nice and served individually. We highly recommend this Riad.

The boy who attended us at the reception and came to pick us up from the taxi, as well as the girl in charge of breakfast and the cleaning girl were super friendly and homely. The riad is beautiful, very well maintained and detailed, the room in very good condition and the bathroom unbeatable. Finally, the location I believe is one of the best places for stay at the medina. This riad as well as its staff made our stay in Morocco worth remembering.

The riad was really nice and clean. Air con is super strong in the room so the temperature was cozy at all times. Wi fi worked great, we only had a handfull of cut offs, but only for a few seconds. There was enough toilet paper and the room got tidied up every single day. Staff was polite and helpful and went out of their way to accomodate our needs. Breakfast could be slightly better, with more options, but it was still nice. The pool was quite cold (22 celsius) which was great comparing to the temperatures of 44 celsius in July. Riad is situated in the old town (Medina) and just a short 15 min walk from the main sqaure. When you exit the hotel there is a small corner shop on the left and the guy sells water for 6 DHM which is a fair price. Location is quite good for most attractions and we didn't use taxi at all.

Great location if you want to be in the hustle of the medina.
United States, Thursday, May 23, 2024
The Riad was in a great location, very friendly, great food, great service, and a nice room that was spacious and clean. We had no complaints really. One thing I’d recommend for future travelers getting picked up from the airport; it is better to acquire some Dirhams (MAD) prior to going into the taxi so the driver can give exact change back. They do not give Euros as change anywhere.
